Travel into Hemis National Park for five days of wildlife exploration focused on the snow leopard. Accompanied by experienced trackers, search the ridgelines and valleys for signs of the ‘Grey Ghost’, with time to scan slopes and observe the mountain ecosystem. The region’s wildlife includes blue sheep, ibex, red fox and numerous high-altitude birds. Each day is shaped by field conditions, wildlife activity and the weather. Nights are spent in warm, comfortable lodges or homestays suited to the extreme climate.
Pangong & Hanle
Days 9–12Pangong & Hanle
Continue towards Pangong Lake, where the turquoise waters contrast with the stark mountain landscape. This visit is seasonal and will be planned according to prevailing conditions.

Continue towards Pangong Lake, where the turquoise waters contrast with the stark mountain landscape. This visit is seasonal and will be planned according to prevailing conditions. Proceed to Hanle, an isolated plateau renowned for its high-altitude environment and the possibility of observing Pallas’ cat. The region also supports wildlife such as the black-necked crane. Time here is devoted to exploring the landscape, searching for wildlife and experiencing the remarkable stillness of the trans-Himalayan plateau.
Day 1Arrival in Delhi
Arrive in India’s capital and transfer to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure, allowing time to rest and prepare for the flight to Leh the following morning.
Day 13Departure
Return to Leh for the flight back to Delhi, concluding the expedition through Ladakh’s mountain wilderness, ancient monasteries and remote high-altitude habitats.

The journey begins in Delhi, with onward air travel to Leh. Transfers between Leh, Hemis National Park, Pangong Lake and Hanle are arranged as part of the expedition. Our business jets may be considered for suitable sectors, subject to operational feasibility and final arrangements.
The principal focus is the Snow Leopard in Hemis National Park and the Pallas’ cat around Hanle. Blue sheep, ibex, red fox, high-altitude birds and the black-necked crane offer further wildlife interest. Sightings of elusive cats cannot be guaranteed; success depends on season, weather, animal movement and field conditions.

What wildlife is this journey designed around?

Are snow leopard and Pallas’ cat sightings guaranteed?
No. Both species are elusive, and sightings depend on season, weather, animal movement and field conditions. The itinerary allows extended time in key habitats, but no encounter can be promised.
Why are two days allocated to acclimatisation in Leh?
Ladakh’s altitude requires a careful transition from the lowlands. Two days allow time to acclimatise before travelling into higher and more remote terrain. The pace and activities during this period should be adjusted to individual needs and medical guidance.
What level of physical comfort should I expect?
Accommodation is planned around comfortable stays appropriate to the region, including warm lodges or homestays in wildlife areas. Facilities in remote locations may be simpler than those available in major cities. Cold temperatures, altitude and extended periods of observation are integral to the experience.
Can the journey be customised or combined with other wildlife destinations?
