Beneath the ancient walls of a formidable hilltop fort, among banyan trees, lakes and dry forest, the royal Bengal tiger lives in its domain with an authority that feels almost elemental. Day 1Arrive in Delhi
Arrive in India’s capital and settle into your hotel. Explore the city at leisure or simply unwind before your Rajasthan adventure begins.
Day 2Transfer to Ranthambhore
Travel to Ranthambhore National Park, where ancient temples and fortress walls rise above lakes and forest. A scenic five-hour private drive from Delhi brings you to the lodge around lunchtime, followed by your first safari into this remarkable wilderness.
Days 3-4Ranthambhore
Spend two safaris each day exploring Ranthambhore in search of tigers, leopards, sloth bears and abundant birdlife. Return to your lodge between drives for leisurely meals, quiet relaxation and conversations with experienced naturalists about the day’s encounters.
Day 5Last Morning in Ranthambhore and Transfer to Jaipur
Enjoy one final morning safari before travelling to Jaipur, the celebrated Pink City, where vibrant bazaars, grand palaces and intricate architecture offer an elegant introduction to Rajasthan’s regal heritage.
Day 6Full Day of Sightseeing in Jaipur

Day 7Flight to Jaisalmer
Take a flight from Jaipur to Jaisalmer, the golden city rising dramatically from the Thar Desert.
Day 8Full Day of Sightseeing in Jaisalmer
Explore Jaisalmer’s magnificent sandstone architecture, from ornate havelis to the imposing desert fort. Wander through its intricately carved interiors and historic quarters before watching the dunes take on a warm golden glow as the sun begins to set.
Day 9Overland Transfer to Jodhpur
Enjoy a relaxed morning before travelling to Jodhpur, the Blue City, dominated by the magnificent Mehrangarh Fort. Explore its imposing ramparts and palatial interiors, then wander through the old city’s distinctive blue-hued lanes.
Day 10Morning in Jodhpur, Transfer to Jawai
Visit Jaswant Thada and the museum at Umaid Bhawan Palace before departing for Jawai. Arrive among its extraordinary granite hills, where Leopards share this ancient landscape with pastoral communities in one of India’s most remarkable examples of coexistence.
Days 11-12Safaris in Jawai
Spend these days exploring Jawai’s granite outcrops and tracking its elusive leopards. Between safaris, retreat to your lodge and enjoy the extraordinary tranquillity of a landscape where wildlife and pastoral life continue to exist side by side.
Day 13Jawai to Udaipur
Depart Jawai for Udaipur, pausing at the grand Jain temples of Ranakpur en route. Arrive in the City of Lakes and spend the afternoon at leisure, perhaps over an elegant dinner overlooking the shimmering waters of Lake Pichola.
Day 14Udaipur
Cruise across Lake Pichola, explore the magnificent City Palace and relax in your lakeside retreat, framed by the Aravalli hills. Take in the enduring legacy of the Maharanas of Mewar as this journey through Rajasthan’s royal heart draws to a close.
Day 15Departure from Udaipur
Depart Udaipur with a deeper appreciation of Rajasthan’s extraordinary cultural legacy, architectural splendour and wild landscapes.

No. This is something akin to a blueprint. Dates, pacing, lodge character, transfers and field priorities are refined around you and your preferences before confirmation.
Can the journey be shortened?
Yes. The full route is designed as an immersive experience, but individual sections can be adapted depending on your priorities.
Can we add more of India’s cultural landmarks?
Absolutely! Any city/town in and around the regions/states part of this itinerary can be incorporated before, after or between the wildlife chapters.
Are the wildlife sightings guaranteed?
No. And we would never suggest otherwise. Wildlife is wild. Our job is to put you in the right landscape, at the right time, with the right people – and give the experience enough time to happen to you.
Is this suitable for families?
Yes. Because the journey is private, its pace can be adapted to different ages, interests and energy levels.
